Raise your hand if there is a Stranger Things season 3 hole in your Halloween plans! I’m not usually one for scary things but that show is the right amount of adventure and fun and heart-warming friendship. Since I’m usually trying to just survive the terrifying commercials in October, this is as dressed up as I get. It’s the perfect way to work a bit of the spirit of the season into an everyday look.
Denim Update: If you are still clinging to your skinny jeans now is great time to loosen your grip and reach for a wide or straight leg cropped silhouette. They are perfect for showing off sock boots which are another favorite of mine these days. Here I’ve paired wide leg cropped jeans with an ankle boot which is another fun option.
Style Staple: Get yourself a trench! They never go out of style but they are also having a revival right now. Trench coats are so versatile and these days they come in many different colors and silhouettes. I recommend one with some non-traditional design elements to keep it fun like the flared sleeves on mine from Olivia Palermo x Banana Republic. This one is sadly out of stock but I’ll link some options below.
Fashion to Feel Good About: Can we talk about this hair-on leather clutch from Love 41? If you haven’t heard of them I highly recommend giving the site a perusal. Their products are handmade by skilled craftspeople in Mexico and are backed by a 41 year warranty. They also donate to Africa New Life Ministries which helps provide education to children in Rwanda so they have hope for a better future. The clutch is beautiful and I love the interest it adds to any outfit. When I carry it I’m reminded that I’ve been able to be a small part of the change Love 41 and Africa New Life make in Rwanda. That is priceless.
